Its mixed-use, ultra-modern design is anchored by 32,000 square feet of commercial space on the first three floors and topped by 220 apartments on the top eight floors above a 275-stall parking garage. Offering its residents and tenants amenities such as a fitness center, conference room/meeting room space, parking, and local retail such as Cargo Coffee, the Star Bar and Tory Miller’s latest creation Sujeo.

The Galaxie

Adjacent to The Constellation and Breese Stevens Field, known as the "Wrigley Field of Rugby" is the Galaxie.  This neighboring high rise is 170,000 square feet of commercial space on the first three floors which are topped by 248 apartments homes, including many "Luxurie Flats" which feature a large open floor plan design.  The Galaxie is open and currently renting apartments.  The amenities of the commercial spaces within the building begins with Festival Foods, a full-service Wisconsin family-owned grocery store.  Also located on the first 3 floors is Earth View Yoga, Omni Fight Club, Body Conscious pilates studio, Associated Bank and LJ's Sports Bar.  Just completing construction now, the Starliner Condos and Apartments are located on the back side of the Galaxie on East Mifflin St.  These residential units offer both rental and ownership opportunities some of which are zoned as Work-Live, allowing their occupants to operate a small business from their apartment home.

The Gebhardt Building

Across from The Galaxie is one of Madison’s most unique collaborative spaces.  The 8-story Gebhardt Building will have 100,000 square feet of retail and office space and will offer premier commercial space in Downtown Madison; within walking distance of everything, great views of both lakes and the Capitol, and just across from luxury high-rise residential buildings.  The Sylvee, by Frank Productions, is a 2,500 seat state-of-the-art perfmance venue that will ensure Madison's future as a destination for performers from around the world.  The Spark, a catalyst for innovation in Wisconsin by American Family, will include the new home of Starting Block Madison and will act as an entrepreneurial hub and ecosystem for local start-ups.  Also located on East Main Street will be the first city-operated parking structure to be constructed in decades.

This project is the final piece remaining of the City-owned vacant lots from the former Don Miller auto dealership and it is the 3rd project by Gebhardt Development on the East Washington Corridor. This is the first project from any developer on the South Side of East Washington Avenue in years.  The Gebhardt Building is transformative, adding much-needed density and job growth to the Capitol East District and it fulfills a long-term vision that brings alive a once-dead district by activating the area throughout the day and night.  This project creates a more vibrant and diverse atmosphere that bridges the Tenney Lapham and Marquette Neighborhoods with the Capitol Square and East Washington Corridor.  The corridor’s continued evolution is intended to cater to an under-served demographic of millennials to empty-nesters by creating the right mix of retail, offices, apartments and condos, bars/restaurants and entertainment venues. This development along with our Constellation and Galaxie projects creates a true urban infill in the most sustainable way possible.
